Art is an equaliser. It’s democratic. It should create bridges, connect languages, connect ideas, create and build instead of alienating and dividing. I have never met a person who couldn't create. ​

​​​I am an artist and maker based in East Dulwich, South East London. I split my time between the studio, where I create mixed media work, and the classroom, where I teach children and adults the joy of making.

My practice is rooted in the handmade, using simple and direct methods in drawing, painting, print and collage.  I create multi disciplinary artwork examining the relationships between objects and collections and their owners. Each subject is carefully selected for shape and form but also reference my keen passion for collecting unusual and often overlooked items from humble sources including charity shops, skips, and seaside walks. .  My favourite subjects include portraits of people I know, my garden and its limitless potential , and the domestic still life. 
I have been a maker all my life and an art teacher for more than 40 years. I have taught toddlers, teenagers and adults. I believe everyone can create, we just need time, space and encouragement.
